An international rating agency has upgraded the rating of the National Depository for Securities (KDPW). The upgrade results, among others, from a positive assessment of KDPW’s low risk and the implementation of the new depository-settlement system kdpw_stream offering new functionalities for participants. 18.01.2010 Temporary Reduction of KDPW Fees
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has decided to temporarily reduce its fees for registration of transactions in currency futures contracts and closing of positions on the expiration of currency futures contracts. In addition, KDPW Participants are relieved from the fee for access to the test environment of the depository-settlement system kdpw_stream. 15.01.2010 Number of Investment Accounts in 2009: Summary
The number of securities accounts operated by KDPW Participants increased by over 100 thousand in 2009. There were 1,132,602 accounts at the end of December 2009, the highest number in many years. Despite a weaker sentiment on the global markets, the Warsaw Stock Exchange attracted investors with attractive offerings of new and previously listed companies. 08.01.2010 KDPW to Settle and Guarantee Settlement of Transactions in BondSpot CATALYST ATS
An Alternative Trading System (ATS) organised by BondSpot on the CATALYST market will go live on 11 January 2010. The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) will settle transactions and operate a guarantee fund for settlement of transactions executed in the BondSpot ATS. 31.12.2009 Memorandum of Understanding between the National Depository for Securities of Poland (KDPW) and the Republican Central Securities Depository of Belarus (RCSD)
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Securities Depository of Belarus (RCSD). It is the first step to establishing an operational link between the central depositories in Poland and Belarus, enabling the listing of Belarusian companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
22.12.2009 New KDPW Strategy Welcomed by International Rating Agency
The UK rating agency Thomas Murray has highly evaluated the 2010-2013 Strategy of the National Depository for Securities (KDPW) approved on 8 December 2009. The agency has stressed that the new strategy focuses on growing the competitiveness of KDPW in the international context. 22.12.2009 Growing Number of Securities Accounts
The number of investment accounts operated by KDPW Participants grew further in November. The number reached 1,149,067 accounts at the end of November, up by 4 thousand month on month. According to current statistics, retail investors have again become more active on the stock market in 2009. The number of securities accounts operated by banks and brokerage houses has grown by over 114 thousand year to date. 10.12.2009 KDPW Strategy 2010-2013
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has approved a new corporate Strategy 2010-2013. The key task of the Management Board is to prepare KDPW for increased foreign competition and market consolidation. Almost 1400 issues of financial instruments registered at the end of October 2009 – shares, bonds, investment certificates, mortgage bonds, derivatives; 102 million transactions cleared and settled in the regulated and non-regulated markets with a value of PLN 34 billion – this is just a short overview of 15 years of operations of the National Depository for Securities (KDPW), one of the most important institutions operating in the Polish capital market. 02.11.2009 The depository-settlement system has a new name - kdpw_stream
The new depository-settlement system introduced on August 3, 2009 has a new name: kdpw_stream. The name, evoking the image of a stream of light, also conveys the idea of the rapid transfer of information, performed by the system. It is also an acronym for Safe, Transparent, Rapid, Effective, Advanced, Modern, which are all features of the new system.
