The number of securities accounts operated by KDPW Participants grew by 3,154 accounts month on month in February 2010. Banks and brokerage houses operated 1,136,120 accounts at the end of February. 05.03.2010 Launch of the Target2Securities National Users Group
The National Users Group NUG_PL – Polish task force assessing the feasibility and procedure of connecting the Polish market to Target2Securities, held its first meeting at the National Depository for Securities (KDPW). The session organised by KDPW in partnership with the National Bank of Poland (NBP) was attended by representatives of banks and brokerage houses, market organisations, the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), the Ministry of Finance, and the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). 03.03.2010 Co-operation with Bulgaria: Opportunity for Growth of the Polish and Bulgarian Markets
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) in co-operation with UniCredit BulBank held a seminar for Bulgarian and Polish journalists in Warsaw on 1 March 2010. The goal of the meeting was to introduce the Bulgarian media to the Polish capital market and the benefits of listing in Poland. Sławomir Panasiuk, Deputy President of the National Depository for Securities (KDPW), has been named CIO of the Year 2009. The prestigious title is awarded by CIO Magazine since 2003. 16.02.2010 Polish Market Initiates Work to Join Target2Securities
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has signed a Unilateral Undertaking on the intention to initiate work to join the pan-European transaction settlement platform Target2Securities (T2S). In the project, KDPW acts as leader of the National Users Group working on the implementation of T2S on the Polish capital market. 15.02.2010 New Operational Link with the Bulgarian Market
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) is opening a new operational link with the Bulgarian market. The link will enable Bulgarian companies to be listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. On 15 February, KDPW and UniCredit BulBank (custodian bank) signed an agreement providing for clearing and settlement of transactions in Bulgarian stocks to be listed on the WSE. 10.02.2010 Number of Securities Accounts in January 2010
The number of securities accounts operated by KDPW Participants was quite stable, growing by only 362 accounts month on month in January 2010. Banks and brokerage houses operated 1,132,966 accounts at the end of January.
