The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has been awarded by the IBM user groups’ organisation COMMON Europe for the implementation of the new depository-settlement system kdpw_stream, one of the most modern solutions in Europe.
The award was presented at the 2010 COMMON Europe Conference in Stratford, England, on 13 June.
The kdpw_stream system was implemented on 3 August 2009. "We succeeded in implementing one of the most difficult projects on the Polish capital market. We are very happy to have been acknowledged: kdpw_stream has already been awarded on several occasions. This is an award for all the companies and institutions who participated in the project. The implementation of kdpw_stream required close collaboration with over 80 participants of the Polish capital market: brokers, banks, the Stock Exchange, as well as IT solution vendors," said KDPW Deputy President Sławomir Panasiuk.
"The award winners are acknowledged for business innovation, implemented advanced IT solutions, creating value for the company and end users of its solutions. These are the qualities of our kdpw_stream system," said KDPW CEO and President Iwona Sroka.
COMMON Europe/IBM Innovation Award is yet another award for kdpw_stream. In February, KDPW Deputy President Sławomir Panasiuk was named "CIO of the Year 2009" by the CIO Magazine for completion of the implementation of the kdpw_stream system; in March, the National Depository was named IT Leader of Financial Institutions 2009 in a competition organised by Gazeta Bankowa.
COMMON is an association of IBM users including companies, organisations and individuals. COMMON Europe was established in 1962 and groups thousands of users representing several European countries.
