The National Depository for Securities (KDPW) has been awarded an honourable mention for its kdpw_stream system in the "IT Leader of Financial Institutions 2009" competition organised for the eighth time by Gazeta Bankowa. kdpw_stream was awarded the honourable mention in the Transaction Systems category. KDPW Deputy President Sławomir Panasiuk collected the award. The awards ceremony took place at the Warsaw Sheraton Hotel on 11 March. "This is an award for the National Depository and all individuals and institutions involved in the project," said Sławomir Panasiuk.
Gazeta Bankowa presents awards in four categories: Transaction Systems; e-Banking and e-Finance; Back-office Systems; IT Leader of Banking 2009. This year, awards were presented in the first two categories and honourable mentions in all four categories.
"The implementation of kdpw_stream has fundamental importance for the growth potential of the Polish capital market because modern infrastructure today is a precondition of facing international competition," said KDPW CEO and President Iwona Sroka.
The kdpw_stream system was implemented on 3 August 2009. It was the biggest IT project on the Polish capital market whose implementation involved more than 80 partners. The project implementation made a significant contribution to improved effectiveness and safety of trade clearing and settlements on the capital market.
In February, KDPW Deputy President Sławomir Panasiuk was named "CIO of the Year 2009" by the CIO Magazine for completion of the implementation of the new depository-settlement system kdpw_stream.
