KDPW and KDPW_CCP Are Strategic Partners of Capital Market Conference 2026

KDPW and KDPW_CCP clearing house have been Strategic Partners of this year’s 26th Capital Market Conference organised by the Chamber of Brokerage Houses (IDM). Under the slogan “Waking Up the Capital Market!”, representatives of financial institutions, the government, supervisory authorities and market organisations gathered on 8-11 March to discuss how to unleash the potential of the Polish exchange and drive an innovative economy.
The conference was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Digital Affairs, the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Finance, and the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF).
The conference programme covered a wide range of topics, from regulatory changes, the development of artificial intelligence and new technologies, through the growing influence of retail investors and the evolution of private markets, to the financing of energy transition and sustainable development. A special place at this year’s conference was given to discussions on the Savings and Investments Union, which may have a huge impact on the future of the European and Polish capital markets.
Maciej Trybuchowski, President of the Management Board of KDPW and KDPW_CCP, took part in two debates: “Waking Up the Capital Market!” and “Quo Vadis Europe: New EU SIU Strategy and Its Impact on the Polish Financial Market”. Marcin Truchanowicz, Member of the Management Board of KDPW and KDPW_CCP participated in a discussion on “Tokenisation and Digital Assets: Capital Market Revolution or New Risks?”
Panel: Waking Up the Capital Market!
The speakers were Dariusz Adamski – Deputy Chairperson of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority; Tomasz Bardziłowski – President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange; Arkadiusz Bociąga – Managing Director, Head of CEE Equity Capital Markets at UniCredit; Ludmiła Falak-Cyniak, Vice-President of the Management Board of PKO Bank Polski; Waldemar Markiewicz, President of the Management Board of the Polish Chamber of Brokerage Houses (IDM); and Maciej Trybuchowski, President of the Management Board of KDPW and KDPW_CCP. The debate was moderated by Robert Stanilewicz.
During the discussion, the speakers considered why the potential of the Polish capital market remains untapped, how to encourage issuers to go public, and how to mobilise investors to convert their savings from bank deposits to the stock exchange. They also discussed the impact of new initiatives by the Ministry of Finance on the development of the Polish capital market (OKI, Innovate Poland, deregulation).
“Quo Vadis Europe: New EU SIU Strategy and Its Impact on the Polish Financial Market”
The speakers included Maciej Trybuchowski representing the KDPW Group, as well as Dr Tadeusz Białek, President of the Management Board of the Polish Bank Association (ZBP), who moderated the discussion; Brunon Bartkiewicz, Advisor to the Management Board of ING Bank Śląski; Piotr Dmuchowski, President of the Management Board of PFR TFI; Katarzyna Kurkowska-Szczechowicz, Vice-President of the Management Board of PKO Bank Hipoteczny; Marcin Mikołajczyk, Deputy Chairperson of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority; Jarosław Niezgoda, Deputy Director of the Financial Market Development Department at the Ministry of Finance; and Adam Szejnfeld, Senator of the Republic of Poland.
It was an important debate on the future of the Polish capital market and its place in the European Union. The speakers were confronted with the idea of the EU Savings and Investments Union (SIU). The speakers agreed that the challenge will be to create solutions to boost the capital market’s ability to finance the economy on a European scale while preserving regional markets, including the increasingly strong capital market financing the Polish economy.

The speakers included Antonina Karwasińska – Director of Operations and Development at Bank Pekao Brokerage Office; Katarzyna Niewińska – Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw; Marcin Opoka – Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at the Warsaw Stock Exchange; Daria Ringlewska – Director of the Infrastructure and Exchange Trading Department at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority; Marcin Truchanowicz – Member of the Management Board of KDPW and KDPW_CCP; Adam Wdowczyk – Senior Manager at Accenture Polska; and Grzegorz Zawada – Director of the VeloBank Brokerage Office. The debate was moderated by Tomasz Prusek.
The topics discussed during the panel included blockchain and its applications in financial institutions, tokenisation of bonds and shares, and the transformation of capital market infrastructure. Security and threats resulting from technological development were also discussed.
